In this painting, I combined photos of my family as a jumping-off point to create something new – transforming environments and people as a sort of painting game for myself in the studio. The result may be a bit awkward, but isn’t that human and joyous? By playing with shapes, color and composition, I’m searching for a way to elevate the ordinary.
This is an original oil painting, signed on the front and hand labeled on the back by the artist. It is painted on cotton canvas stretched on wood stretcher bars. The canvas is gallery wrapped, meaning that the sides are smooth and painted white. It is 1.5 inch thick, wired in the back and ready to hang.
